smart South West continues to put the iconic brand on the map after being named Retailer of the Year by the manufacturer for an unprecedented third time.
The group, which sells and services smarts at its Mercedes-Benz retail outlets in Exeter, Taunton, Plymouth and Truro, secured its prestigious hat-trick after previous wins in 2007 and 2008. Despite not winning the title last year, smart South West was still ranked among the top three smart retailers in the country.
The award was presented by Dermot Kelly, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Cars, at the recent Mercedes-Benz Retailer of the Year awards and he was full of praise for the group’s all-round performance.
“smart South West are extremely focused on the brand, supporting it through strong customer service and excellent sales,” he said. “smart makes a positive financial impact to the group, with After Sales notable for its contribution, alongside high profile, successful smart-centred customer events.”
Mike Wickins, Mercedes-Benz and smart South West’s Manager Director, was delighted that the hard work of his colleagues and their commitment to the brand and customer service had been acknowledged.
“smart has established itself as an integral part of our business and we have built up a loyal following of customers not only in the West Country but in other parts of the UK too,” he said.
“To win any award once is fantastic but to have been named Retailer of the Year for a third time is a phenomenal achievement,” added Mike. “It is a credit to everyone involved, particularly as they have continued to perform at the top of their game in what was a very challenging year for the motor trade.”
